DC Stabilization & Sobering Center Renovation
Design-build renovation of the DC Stabilization and Sobering Center, including multidisciplinary design coordination, permitting, MEP improvements, construction administration, environmental compliance, and LEED Silver objectives.
Project Overview
The DC Stabilization and Sobering Center Renovation project delivered design-build services to modernize the facility and support its operational, functional, and safety needs.
The project included design development, preparation and coordination of construction documents, permitting, and construction management. Architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems were coordinated to support the renovation while maintaining the functionality of existing building systems and areas outside the renovation scope.
Design-build services also included permit coordination, agency and third-party review, utility and stormwater permitting where required, and development of traffic-control and public-space modification plans as applicable. Construction administration supported implementation through progress meetings, site visits, submittal and RFI reviews, change documentation, and project closeout.
Environmental compliance, hazardous-material documentation, quality control, and established safety requirements were integrated throughout the work. The project also incorporated LEED Silver certification objectives, supporting a more modern, efficient, and compliant facility.
